UKDMFC Triple Method Championships - Woodland View, Droitwich, Worcestershire : 31st August 2006

 

Oldham Owls Barry Porter won the UKDMFC Triple Method Championships with a winning weight of 56lbs 05oz. John Heald was 3rd and Ron Hayes was 5th, both Owls members.

31 anglers from around the UK who fished the final by qualifying from 2 previous qualifying rounds. Out of these were 10 Owls members.

Today the 2006 Gerry Williams was fished at the Meadow View complex on the Linnet pool, where 18 Owls members lined up to see who would win this popular competition.

After a few red-hot days previous to the event, the weather changed to cool temperatures and rain, not the ideal conditions but would the fish feed?

Ken Madden on peg 16 took advantage of an end peg, fishing to his left feeding meat with meat on the hook caught carp steadilly throughout the match to win with a cracking weight of 57 pounds 4 ounces.
Ken commented after the match to catch a big weight on such an important competition in the Owls match calendar was fantastic.



 

Wilf Griffin on peg 18 came 2nd with a close weight of 54 pounds 6 ounces catching mainly carp.

 

 


Jim Bennett on peg 9 came 3rd with 24 pounds 4 ounces.

Owls Winter Series 2007

The Owls again held their 4 match winter series at Widows Flash in Wigan. The overall winner was Martin Kershaw who won with 5points followed by Jason Rimmer in second with 8 points and Jim Bennett finishing 3rd with 10 points
